Hello, my name is Amis Black. I am a Formosan black bear. I am endemic to Taiwan. In 2001, we Fromosan black bears were even voted the most representative wildlife of Taiwan

Do you see the white mark that looks like a letter "V" on my chest?  Some people think it's like a moon shape, and that's the reason why I have another nickname — the "moon bear".

The costume I'm wearing is made by the students and the teacher in min tsu junior high school. They designed  this costume according to the Amis traditional clothing.

Amis means "north" in the aboriginal language of Amis, it  is one of the 16 official Taiwanese aborigines.

Amis people are friendly and very good at singing and dancing. Except that, they are also characterized by matriarchy and a male hierarchy determined by age.

Every July or August, the Harvest Festival is generally held in every Amis village. It's the most important activity for them. During this festival or in weddings, Amis people usually dress themselves up with beautiful clothing and accessories like feathers, headbands, necklaces, and earrings in bright colors .

Thank you so much for inviting me to your school. I'm on my way to the US. See you soon~🙂
