Highlights of the week for Kai

This is a map of our partner schools (for social studies) around the world

The highlights of my week were PE because we did some fun rotations.  One of the rotations was practicing tennis by hitting the ball on the wall.  And another was Foursquare.  And another was catching a football.  And my favorite was doing bunny hops and sealwalk.  I think there was alligator walk or crocodile.  Then there was one more and it was called a duck walk.  And another rotation was twirling and jump-roping.  There was another section of just jump-roping.

And I also liked looking at Google Earth.  We got on the streets and got close to people and we looked like we were running over them.

Highlights of the week for Django

We made a text feature chart.    We learned about maps, pictures, diagrams, bold print, sub headings, charts, etc.

My highlights of the week was PE and library.  In library I found some new books.  There were a lot of Pokemon books.  I couldn't check them out because I had 3 books check out already...for about 3 months!  I like Pokemon.  We just started playing flag football in PE; it's really fun because some of the other people don't know how to throw a football so it is fun to help.

Highlights of the week for Hiram

This is Kina and me holding the eggs

This is me and Kai making the sign

We are holding up the signs we made

Ms. Kathleen was demonstrating what it was like in the old days about segregation

We are walking in our Peace March

I liked the Peace March because it was fun and I had a good time holding the sign.  The ruler to our sign fell off I was the drummer.  I was drumming on the sign.    I liked making the sign with Kai.  We had a sign that said "We have a dream that people used words, not weapons".    I liked learning about the differences between the two eggs - we looked 2 eggs and noticed the differences between the two.  One was brown and the other was white but the insides were the same.  The eggs were representing people.

Highlights of the week for Isabel

My highlight was when we went to the Shrinking Bigfoot Assembly.  I liked how they talked about electricity.  I learned that if you keep the lights on too long, then it is wasting electricity.  We want to save electricity so we can share with the earth.  I learned burning fossil fuels creates carbon dioxide which is bad for everyone.  It can break through the forcefield around the earth.  And it makes the sun too hot for the earth. This is called global warming.

I also learned sisters fight a lot.  I learned it from the example in the assembly.  'Cause Brittany leaves stuff on a lot.  Ashley's like, "Hey, you left the refrigerator on".

Lauren's Explorations

Hi Class!
During the break I went to Utah to visit my cousins.
We went to see this tree of light.  It was very bright!

It snowed a lot while we were there. And there was so much snow that we could make a snowman at my Grandma's house!

And we went sledding.  It was lots of fun!

And we went to see the Nutcracker dance. In one part there was a big boom where a person appeared and there was a cannon that was even louder!

The gingerbread house was really big and had two floors.  It looked like someone had gone in the gingerbread house.

We ate at a Japanese restaurant and they cooked right in front of us! There was a big fire!

I can't wait to see everyone in class again!
