Highlights of the week for Clio and Julia

Bruno waiting patiently on the one hour trip to visit his cousin Gracie in Sedro Wooley.

We finished our shoes and we made a road that basically said it's not a sprint, it's a marathon.

The class finished our hopes and dreams portraits.  In our self portraits, we created symbols to represent our hopes and dreams.

We did photo interviews on pictures that Ms. Kathleen gave us and we made poems based on those pictures.

our newly named class teddy bears enjoy their new note book.
We went to the corn maze.  These are the pictures Ms. Kathleen took of us.  It was very fun.

It was a field trip where we went through the corn maze and found clues on the way.

Us 4th and 5th Graders made a wave.
We watched a pig show of the four little pigs who ran around basically and getting treats.

Last but not least, we saw a duck race.  Oreo won (the black and white one).

Highlights of the week from Ella

This is Bruno's face. Which looks so cute! (better then his bottom half, i think the top half is better.)
These are our hopes and dreams for this school year.
This is the reading workshop rules poster.
Our carpet behavior for the year.
This is the bare bones table class charter, for how they want to feel this year. ( Those are also Anna's legs)
This is our Growth Mindset, for if we think we can't do it, we look at the Growth Mindset poster and it has good ways to think about your problems in a different way.
This is our final whole class charter to think of how we want to feel.

Highlights of the week from Ms. Kathleen

This was a super exciting week!  I was so eager for the start of school I hardly sleep the day before school started.  It was very satisfying to meet this class.  So far, I learned they have wonderful ideas (I already received some ideas on improving the classroom!) and are willing to share them so we all benefit.

I was so excited about my days week I had to tell my dog Bruno.  He was a good listener, I think.  This is him listening under the table.  At least I think he was listening; I hope he didn't fall asleep...it was hard to tell.

I had to tell my son Zachary too about my week.  I encouraged him to tell his friends about the great class I have.  I think he is texting to his friends here...

Our theme this year is It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.  I thought this meant taking one's time and not rushing.  The kids in the class also came up with working together and having fun.  Wow, that really made the theme better.

Our classroom all cleaned and ready for business.

Our 4th grade library in the classroom.

We have so many books we had to expand to the hallway!  Here is another library reading nook right outside.

We will continue to learn about cursive.  All of the morning messages and announcements will be in this format.
