Highlights of the week for Matthew

This week we started our Mayan research paper. I just did writing; I didn't need to do research.  I sort off want to do some research today.  I'm writing about farming. I didn't like the iPads that much because for the two times I researched, I got nothing.   On Monday, we had gym.  On Tuesday, we had library.  On Wednesday, we had gym and early dismissal.  Today we have art.  In art, we are going to work on our small moment art piece.

On Monday, we read on the lawn.  It was sunny and fun to read on the lawn.  Yesterday I had a play date with my friend William.  Not the William in this school - a different William.

Highlights of the week for Halle

This is us sitting by the Blue Rhino Cave

This week, we went to the Burke Museum for our Rocks and Minerals unit.  First, we went to the Burke Room to identify rocks and minerals.  Next, we went to the Discovery Room to do some stations and a fun activity where you go around a exhibit to look for different things.  It was really fun.

Yesterday, we got to do research on the iPads.  But I did not get a lot of information from them.

Today after school, I get to go to a mother daughter group at my friend's house.  At mother daughter group, it's where some girls and their moms get together once a month and hang out.  Also we have gym tomorrow and I think we are doing basketball. Also, we have art.  In art, we are doing narrative portraits.

Highlights of the week for Felix

This week we went on ipads to search information about the Mayans.  It didn't give me that much information because we only got, like 5 minutes.  (They got 15! - Ms. Kathleen)  It didn't feel like 15 minutes. Then we had writing workshop.  In the writing workshop, I wrote about Minecraft.  On Wednesday, we went to gym and did basketball.  It was fun.  Yesterday, I lost my Scholastic News for about an hour.  I found it in the yellow table's bin, also known as my table.  Today we have an extra recess and we are also doing art.

Highlights of the week for Carys

This week was really fun.  We had a courage presentation on Monday, typing on Tuesday and Wednesday, gym on Wednesday and Friday.  For our courage presentation, our group did Derrick Coleman.  Our group thought Derrick Coleman is courageous because he has a hearing disability and still plays football.  He is the first legally deaf player in the NFL.  He plays for the Seahawks.

In typing, I am learning finger positions on level 3 and it is really hard and fun.  You put your pinkie down on semicolon and your ring finger on your right hand on L, your middle finger on K, your index finger on J.  The program makes for kids instead of making it all complicated like it would be for grownups.

We had a comprehension worksheet.  The worksheet helps Ms. Kathleen to know what reading group to put us in.  Anyway, this week was really fun.
