Isabella in Guadalajara

I went to the city where my mom grew up: Guadalajara. Guadalajara is the second largest city of Mexico. Here I am in the "Plaza Fundadores". This sculpture represents the foundation of Guadalajara. Did you know that it was founded 471 years ago, on February 14th? Just like Valentines day!

We visited a building were my mom worked many years ago. It's a cultural and very old building.

You can taste many yummy fruit in Guadalajara, such mangoes, pineapple, bananas and more!

These is a typical bread. It is called "pan dulce", sweet bread. My favorites are "conchas". My favorite flavors are vanilla and chocolate!

A type of soup named pozole. It was good.

My aunt Tere took me to my favorite bookstore. It is called "Gandhi". She got me some books and games.

My cousin and I had a horse ride! It was so fun!

I played a lot with my cousins' dog. Its name is Rocky.

My cousins and I set up a lemonade stand. We made 60 pesos!

My family!

I lost my 7th tooth while being there. In Mexico, instead of a tooth fairy, it's a Magic Mouse who comes to let some pesos under your pillow. He left 40 pesos under my pillow!

On our way back, I played with my mom's iPad. Look at this picture of my mom taken with photo booth! So funny!

  1. Audrey - I've never to Guadalajara. It sounds very cool. I can't believe you got 40 pesos! Can you ask your mom if she can make some pan dolce for our class for snack time?

Zara - It sounds so fun.

Halle - You were so lucky. 40 peso for just a tooth. I only get $2 for my tooth. Can you trade Spanish Dollars for English Dollars?

Thea - Your mom look so funny on that picture. You got 40 pesos for a tooth? and you made 60 pesos for lemonade? That's a lot of pesos.

Karthik - No fair. You got $100!

Carys - My mom and dad went to Mexico for their honeymoon.

Aspen - The picture you took of your mom is very very funny.

Ian - Can you buy me a jet so I can go to Mexico?
